The Ash tree could be extinct in 30 years thanks to a mixture of ash dieback (a fungal disease) and a small green asian beetle.

5 years after this article was written I have now seen beetles matching the description in my own garden, while the fungal disease is common throughout the country:

The article compares the mixture of disease and pest to the decline of the Elm tree in the 1980’s. Are we set to see one species after another disappear thanks to globalisation and climate change?
