Reclaimed Pitch Pine & Walnut Dining Table

This table was designed to make the most of the reclaimed pitch pine beams which it was sourced from.

The large chunky design draws attention to the source material and in particular I decided to keep the age darkened surface on the bottom and sides of the table top. I lightly hand planed these to smooth the surface but keep the darkened look.

The construction makes use of traditional joinery to the extent that no glue or metal fasteners were used in the construction.

I used walnut for the trestle pegs and feet of the table as accent parts to help match the dark highlights of the table top.

The actual design is very practical, as there is plenty of leg room underneath so its easy to sit at any position around the table. Finished with a durable oil which is waterproof and easy to keep clean.
